Nick an Katie’s beautiful Carmel Valley wedding was filled with lush hydrangeas and thoughtful details throughout. From the bride and groom
” Our wedding was designed to be visually stunning with an “explosion of flowers” (to quote the bride) and baaah-reathtaking views. Carmel was chosen because not only was it a place where the bride has made many cherished childhood memories but also a respite of calm and peace for us and our guests. We picked a location that would symbolize both of our beginnings: the bride’s coastal background and the groom’s country upbringing. Mission Ranch Inn was the perfect selection, a sheep ranch right on the coast.
The theme underlying our wedding was California Classy Chic, think Ralph Lauren meets West Coast. Our goal was to be both timelessly elegant and relaxed at the same time. We wanted every aspect to reflect care, attention, and thought, and then we draped everything in hydrangeas, our favorite flower. We chose lilac, celery, and French blue as our color palette to complement our floral outburst. Accenting everything with a personal touch were handcrafted wooden boxes, frames, and signs – all built by the groom – but the center of it all was the custom 8 foot tall arbor he built for the ceremony. Butterflies were also subtly incorporated throughout the decor to celebrate our loved ones who couldn’t be with us on our special day.
Our three-level cake was adorned with edible molded flowers that cascaded from the top down and figurines of our pets. Our two bunnies also inspired the signature cocktails which featured custom monogram ice cubes for a little extra sparkle. The sheep were honored throughout the evening appearing on tote bags, pens, and even getting a seat at the bar. “
